surgery for my baby:(

When Jace was born i noticed a little dimple like indent on his neck well when i took him to his first checkup with his Dr. i showed the Dr. and he said well there is good news and bad news.

Bad news is that he will have to have surgery to remove it. Good news it might not be until he's like ten, Well he's only 13 months and it's already time.

Jace has what they call Branchial Cleft Sinus Tract:
During the fifth week of fetal development, major head and neck structures are formed. The five pharyngeal arches (bands of tissue) are important structures that are formed. These arches contain primitive connective tissue that becomes cartilage, bone, muscle and blood vessels. Incomplete, failed or persistent embryonic development of these arches results in several anomalies or defects in the neck.
Two common congenital problems which can occur from this abnormal development are branchial cleft sinuses and cysts.
:(:(
So tomorrow we are headed to Primary Children's Hospital to have the surgery. It's a same day surgery so that's a good thing. It's about a forty five minute to an hour surgery. They go in and cut out the dimple(as i call it). I'm not going to lie and say I'm not nervous cause i am. Everyone Say's well you have been through a kid having open heart surgery you can do this.
But anytime you have to be put under it scares me. It might have a little to do with Megan not waking up so well after her surgery, that they had to reverse her medication and she woke up with no medication in her:(
Stay tuned for my little bubbas recovery pic's.
And please keep Jace in your prayers:) Thanks!

Jace 13 months!

Everytime I hear the words 'primary childrens' i get a knot in my stomach. I can honestly say that i hate that place. And i don't say hate very often! I know it's a good place and we are so lucky to have it nearby but i still don't like going there.. EVER! Even if it's a minor same day surgery, it still sucks to be taking your baby :( I'm sorry. I hope it goes well. At least you kind of know what to expect?? I'm not sure that helps you feel better but i try! I will be waiting to hear how he does. Good luck!

That's so scary. I hate all the things that can go wrong. Who'd of thought a little dimple could turn into something so big. Poor lil guy, I'm sure everything will go great. He's such a happy lil guy, he'll probably have a quick recovery. We'll be sure to keep him in our prayers.

Kaycee, I'm so sorry! I hope everything went well today! I wish I would've known. I could've packed you a care package. We are so fortunate to have such a great children's hospital nearby. We take Tre back up there tomorrow to follow up with the asthma specialist. I'm always scared they're going to want to keep him again. Our prayers are with you and your family. Please keep us posted. I'm here if you need anything or even just need to talk.

I've been thinking about you all day and our conversation we had about this awhile back! You always make me feel normal when I feel like such a worry wart! You know I am the same way about my kids! I hope everything went well today!
