Megan and Madison did Fremont's cheer clinic last week. They practiced 3 days last week and then on Friday they danced and cheered at Fremont's basketball game.

Megan enjoyed every minute of it.

Tayler had basketball games on the days they practiced so she couldn't do it this time. But she loved going and watching them and cheering them on.

Megan said now her and madi can go to tayler's games and be her cheerleaders.

Kelson ugly sweater christmas party

Last Saturday was my dads family Christmas party. Every year my grandma and grandpa & cousins make the party so much fun, the games, decorations etc.

Well this year they added some more fun by making it an ugly sweater party, so we did just that.
I made the kids sweaters and Dustin's and borrowed mine from a neighbor who had made hers for a ugly sweater work party. Megans made me laugh so hard, it was a basket before we made it into a sweater.

Tayler was funny cause she kept saying how cute hers was and that she would wear it to school.

They had a bunch of minute to win it games set up they were fun, this one was funny cause you had to stack 3 chap sticks on top of each other with chopsticks. Well my cousin did it.

This was a game between the last 2 you had to see who could unwrap a roll of crate paper the fastest while wrapping it around their arms, it was so funny.

These were the 3 winners of the ugly sweaters, my cousin in the hat actually won by a picking a number between 1 and 10

Dustin got some of the best news on Friday at work. He sent this picture to my phone and i couldn't really tell what it was. Then realized it was a pineapple, towels, suntan lotion, aloe Vera, a bracelet for me, candy, and real fish. With a card that said " Aloha congrats on your achievements" so it looks like we are headed to Hawaii again:) I'm super excited, and i am so grateful for all the hard work my hubby does for his family.So the basket came with one fish, but some friends didn't want to take one home. So we know have 3 fish... Meet jace's fish- tini Tayler's fish - Pocahontas and megan's fish spikey.

We made this cute & yummy snowman pizza for dinner. It was seriously so yummy, i just bought two things of scone dough from maceys and made 3 circles. Than you just use ranch as the sauce, add white cheese and olives for the eyes, mouth & buttons and a carrot for the nose.

I forgot to take a picture after it was cooked. My brother stopped by and had 2 pieces and said how good it was. I really think it was the ranch dressing for the sauce. While we were waiting for it to bake jace and Ellie were both running and ran around the wall and smacked right into each other. Poor Ellie got knocked right on her butt, but i think she was just more scared than hurt. I instantly started hugging her until i looked at bubba and he was crying so hard like a hurt cry, instantly his poor cheek right by his eye was blue and swollen. It looked and felt like there was a marble under his skin:) I was surprised it didn't spit open, and pretty sure he'll have a black eye tomorrow.

Warning: Not an exciting post, but wanted to document this.

So a week ago Monday i was diagnosed with shingles. I was having some serious pain in my back and almost made Dustin take me to the hospital, well i didn't and just kept trying to ignore it. I kept saying it feels like im having a heart attack, not that i know what that feels like. But i guess that is what a lot of people say it feels like. Well then the pain i was feeling in my back started to move to my side then to the bottom of my breast. It hurt to even just touch softly with my finger. Well then like with in a week all the area where it hurt turned numb, including my breast. I kinda freaked out and googled what it could be ( don't ever google symptoms) almost every answer it said was cancer. Well i finally called my ob and told them my symptoms, and that i was concerned about it being with my girly parts:) well the nurse called me right back and said that my ob was sure it was shingles and to get to a regular Dr. cause they did not want me coming in there cause it's really dangerous to pregnant women. So i made an apt. and as soon as the Dr. saw it he said yep that's shingles. So i have been on an antibiotic for over a week now, and luckily mine never turned all the way to blisters. I guess that's when they are super contagious. But the Dr. said that some patients never get their feeling back!!

The migraines have been the worst part i think, besides the pain and itching:)

The reason the Dr. thinks i got it is cause i guess if you get chickenpox the virus always stays in your body and if you are ever really stressed or sick it can come back, well about 2 weeks before i was pretty sure i had walking ammonia so he thinks that could be why.

Symptoms:

When the virus that causes chickenpox reactivates, it causes shingles. Early symptoms of shingles include headache, sensitivity to light, and flu-like symptoms without a fever. You may then feel itching, tingling, or pain where a band, strip, or small area of rash may appear several days or weeks later. A rash can appear anywhere on the body but will be on only one side of the body, the left or right. The rash will first form blisters, then scab over, and finally clear up over a few weeks. This band of pain and rash is the clearest sign of shingles.
The rash caused by shingles is more painful than itchy. The nerve roots that supply sensation to your skin run in pathways on each side of your body. When the virus becomes reactivated, it travels up the nerve roots to the area of skin supplied by those specific nerve roots. This is why the rash can wrap around either the left or right side of your body, usually from the middle of your back toward your chest. It can also appear on your face around one eye. It is possible to have more than one area of rash on your body.
Shingles develops in stagesProdromal stage (before the rash appears)
Pain, burning, tickling, tingling, and/or numbness occurs in the area around the affected nerves several days or weeks before a rash appears. The discomfort usually occurs on the chest or back, but it may occur on the belly, head, face, neck, or one arm or leg.
Flu-like symptoms (usually without a fever), such as chills, stomachache, or diarrhea, may develop just before or along with the start of the rash.
Swelling and tenderness of the lymph nodes may occur.
Active stage (rash and blisters appear)
A band, strip, or small area of rash appears. It can appear anywhere on the body but will be on only one side of the body, the left or right. Blisters will form. Fluid inside the blisters is clear at first but may become cloudy after 3 to 4 days. A few people won't get a rash, or the rash will be mild.
A rash may occur on the forehead, cheek, nose, and around one eye (ophthalmicus ), which may threaten your sight unless you get prompt treatment.
Pain, described as "piercing needles in the skin," may occur along with the skin rash.
Blisters may break open, ooze, and crust over in about 5 days. The rash heals in about 2 to 4 weeks, although some scars may remain.
Postherpetic neuralgia (chronic pain stage)
Postherpetic neuralgia (PHN) is the most common complication of shingles. It lasts for at least 30 days and may continue for months or years. Symptoms are:
Aching, burning, stabbing pain in the area of the earlier shingles rash.
Persistent pain that may linger for years.
Extreme sensitivity to touch.
The pain associated with PHN most commonly affects the forehead or chest. This pain may make it difficult for the person to eat, sleep, and do daily activities. It may also lead to depression.
Shingles may be confused with other conditions that cause similar symptoms. The rash from shingles may be mistaken for an infection from herpes simplex virus (HSV), poison oak or ivy, impetigo, or scabies. The pain from PHN may feel like appendicitis, a heart attack, ulcers, or migraine headaches.

Tayler decided she wanted to sign up to play Jr. jazz this year. She has been waiting for almost a month for it to start, and last week they had their first practice. They practice twice a week until January and then the games begin.

One thing we were kinda shocked at is that she is the only girl on the team with 7 boys lol. Go tay!!

Jace decided to walk back to sit with aunt kari while we were all standing in line for a snack and i had no clue and turned around and he was gone. I had security looking for him for 10 minutes worst & longest 10 minutes of my life. He told kari i had sent him to sit with her while i got him a treat, little stinker.

Super Stars!!

Halloween morning we went to Good things Utah, my kids were on the show and tayler said "mom we are like super stars now" lol. I surprised the kids by taking them there, they were so excited when we got here and i told them they were going to be on the show. They did a costume parade on the show and had the kids walk on set, and then later they interviewed them and asked them their names and such.

Then after the show we got a few pictures.
It was so funny neicea was dressed up as Justin Beiber and Angie was Selena Gomez and the guest co host was a crazy fan.

Later that night we went out to my cousins house in kaysville and had a fun dinner, she made a witches brew( Root beer) and all the kids had so much fun. Then after dinner we went out trick or treating.

Tayler-Alice in Wonderland, Meg- Bat women, Jace- Batman, Brev-Vampire, Madi- Punky Brewster and jake and zach not sure exactly what they are robbers??? lol. All i know is that they scored in that neighborhood they had to come back and unload their bags cause they were too heavy:) Those are my kinda kids, i miss being a kid.

Jack's Pumpkin Patch

Saturday we took the kids to the jacks pumpkin patch in farmington. We have been going here for the past couple of years and love it.

For some reason Jace's eyes were closed in every picture

Each of the kids picked a tiny pumpkin and a normal size pumpkin. They were totally content with the small ones, in fact that's all they wanted but i made them get a bigger one cause they cant carve a tiny one. And that's one of my favorite traditions, carving pumpkins.

After picking the perfect pumpkins we headed over to lagoon for some fun.

I love this time of year!!!

Yummy Marshmallow Brownies

I found a yummy Marshmallow Brownie recipe, so tonight me and the kids decided to make them. You need any brownie mixture & a bad of stacker mallows.

Warm your oven to 350 and mix your brownie according to directions on box.
Put in sprayed 13x9 pan and bake for 20 min.

Then remove from oven and layer marshmallows on top of brownie, then bake for 10 more minutes.

Oh man these smell so good while baking.

And this is what the finished product looks like when it comes out of the oven.

They are a little messy, but the mess is worth the yumminess!!!

And the girls gave them a thumbs up!!!!!

Today we decided to take the kids to frightmares. It was a lot of fun i haven't been to frightmares since i was a teenager.

The kids thought this part was the best, it was called spook-a-boo its a little area set up where the kids bumper cars usually is. You got a bag at the beginning and went from room to room and each room had a theme. There was a Alice and wonderland room, a pirate room, Egyptian room, jungle, princess room and in each room they gave you a treat or a toy that had to do with that theme. The funhouse of fear, they loved the outside but not so much the inside. They rate the scariness of the houses by spiders so this one was a 3 spider and we thought it would be fine, but we had a cryer & it wasn't my baby lol. It kinda scares me to take megan into these kind of things because of her heart, she was freaked!!!! So after that we didn't dare try the 4(Deception) or 5 spider(Lockdown) we wanted to go into Psycho Dave's salvage yard that was only 2 spiders but it didn't open til 5 and we had to get home so dad could get to the priesthood session.

Dresser makeover

I was looking for a dresser for jace's room because we were still using the changing table\dresser as his dresser but it only had one drawer. Well my wonderful aunt had this old dresser and bookshelf that she let me have. It has been sitting in my garage for a couple months now, so i finally got some free time to do it.

Well last weekend i turned 32 and to be completely honest it was hard. I have never felt different on any other birthday but this year was different. I know the reasoning for feeling bad about it is because I'm not happy about myself. The way i look and feel, so hopefully by this time next year it's a different story. So anyways enough about that lol. I Have been a huge fan of the Daily Dish & Good things Utah for many years, and this year i got to go see the taping of both shows with my bestie.
After the show and being able to visit with those sweet ladies minus Reagan who was out of town booooo!!! We went to lunch at Dairy Queen and Jessica snuck this picture of me while she was supposedly looking at the pictures on my camera.

So i got a blackmail picture of her lol.

Later that night i was so lucky and got to go on a hot date with my hubby to the Rascal Flatts Concert. Thanks to a sweet friend who gave me her tickets in exchange for movie tickets for her and her hubby, Awesome exchange right!! Thanks cami:)

Saturday was my actual birthday and my hubby and kids spoiled me. They got me flowers, cake & ice cream and money to go shopping at a boutique that happened to be on my birthday.

My wonderful sister kari took my kids friday night while we went to the concert and she even kept the kids overnight. The next morning when she brought them home, she brought them with balloons and diet coke:)

First day of 2nd grade!!!

WOW!!! Where have the last 7 years gone. i can not believe my girls are in 2nd grade.

They were so excited that they had a REALLY hard time falling to sleep the night before. Sunday night the girls got to choose what they wanted for dinner, Shepard's pie it was. Then daddy gave the kids wonderful blessings before their big first day of school.

Tayler and Megan got Mrs. Hancock & Mrs. Wilkinson, they are team teachers and i have heard nothing but the best about them both. Tayler loves that they base everything on sports, they have them in groups and each group is a sports team. They have a MVP each week, so excited to see all the fun things the girls do & learn this year.

I think this is the only school outfit they got that are the same lol.

Busy but fun weekend!!

This weekend went by so fast, it's true time flies when your having fun. On Friday we were lucky and got to Park city and spend the day with Dustin's boss his wife & a few other people. Dustin's boss is moving to Seattle so it was kinda like a goodbye gift. We started off by eating lunch at This YUMMY restaurant called Zoom. Apparently Robert Redford owns the joint. It was so nice, we just sat on the back patio and ate our lunch.
We all shared 3 different appetizers but this was my favorite.

After that we headed up to ride the Alpine slide, Alpine Coaster and zip line. We had to head over to the outlets to get some school shopping in for the kids before it was time to get home to the kids so me and Dustin didn't get to ride the zip line.

Later that night my brother and sister in law invited us up for a movie under the stars. It was so fun, they had invited some friends & neighbors so there were a ton of kids my kids ages. The kids jumped on the trampoline, kicked the ball, and we all watched Rio.

We of course had tons of yummy treats, Popsicles, licorice, muddy buddy, etc. and i made this popcorn. Pink = Strawberry and Blue= coconut

Jace made a friend right away, they were both 3 and both were total Blondie's.

The next day was our annual Kelson family reunion.

My grandma made a game for the kids. You were timed and had to see who could get the all the gumballs down to the bottom. Jake got the fastest time 12 sec. and Jace got the slowest over a minute something.

I love these two kiddos. Ellie loves bubba she follows him everywhere. They totally look like siblings:)

Only One more week til school starts, hopefully we can get a few more fun things fit in this week.

Prayer

I had to write this down before i forgot.

We teach our kids about prayer, how to pray, when to pray and where to pray. I am so thankful for the power of prayer. Last week as we were getting ready for church i told Megan to go get her shoes on, well she kept saying she could only find one shoe. I just kept saying " keep looking"

She left the room and i kept getting the other kids and myself ready, when it was time to leave and we were walking out the door she said " i still can't find my shoe mom" so i got a little mad but went to help look for it. Couldn't find it anywhere, i know i should have had her put some other shoes on but lets face it she's a girl and those shoes matched that exact outfit. So Dustin said "I'm taking tayler and jace and I'll meet you there". (We have to drive separately anyways due to his calling)

So me and meg kept looking, shortly after she came out of her room and said " i found it mom" i said " where was it" it was in a place her and i swore we had already looked. Well we got into the car and were driving to church and meg says " mom when i couldn't find my shoe i went in my room and said a prayer that i would find my shoe, and i did" I got a little teary eyed and she just smiled. I love when heavenly father answers prayers, even little ones about a little lost shoe.

Family Hike

Dustin & i thought it would be fun to take the kids on a hike last Saturday, we headed up to a place in Kaysville that dustin runs about twice a week. I'm not going to lie my kids thought they were going to die half way up to the top. I sorta don't blame them cause it was like 95 degrees and it was all up hill, we were sweating like crazy & every one's water bottle was about gone between me pouring it on the kids heads and drinking it. Dustin was laughing at us because we were complaining, he said "i run this thing".

Once we got to the top they were excited and proud of themselves. Then we started to hike a little bit further to the waterfall (that's what dustin said we were walking towards anyways)

And this was the waterfall, it's a bridge with water running under it lol. I was picturing water coming off the mountain, maybe something we could get in. After we hung out at the " waterfall" for a bit we headed back down, everyone wanted a turn on daddy's shoulders. As you can tell by megans butt you can tell she fell down a couple of times.

We encountered a few snakes & lizards, but eventually made it back down to the car.

The first picture is of the kids at end of the hike, the sign says Wilderness park and my girls said"mom that was not a park" they crack me up!!

Soda Springs\Blackfoot Idaho

My grandparents and aunt and uncle have a cabin up in black foot Idaho, and every year we have a family reunion up there. We left on Thursday and came home Sunday, it was so hard to come back home to real life after a long weekend of fun.

We went up a day before everyone, we helped my grandpa get the boat and the jet skis down to the dock.

My grandpa just turned 80, he such an amazing person. He can't sit still he is always doing something.

On our way home we drove past the new temple being built in Brigham city. We have driven by a couple times, it's so neat to see it's process my kids thought it was so cool.

4th of July Festivities

Every year it's the same schedule on the 4th. We start the morning off at the Riverdale parade, then follow the parade to the park for games, and socializing.

After the park we all went to Burger Bar then back to our house & ate lunch, the boys played ball, took naps then headed back to grandmas for a bbq. After the bbq we walked up to the park to watch the fireworks.

It was a late night, but it was totally worth it. The 4Th is one of my favorite holidays i look forward to it every year. From picking out the kids outfits, the parade, seeing old friends, food & fun. But my favorite part is being with my siblings:)

Heart Camp (Camp Hawkins)

This year i found out about a camp that was started last year, it's called Camp Hawkins a camp for heart kids and their siblings. It was named after Dr. Hawkins that did Megan's open heart surgery when she was 11 months old, he was diagnosed with terminal cancer. He was able to attend last years camp but sadly he passed away a month before this years camp. There is a day camp, or a 3 day camp and we decided to try it out by doing the day camp this year. They have Dr's on site and a huge staff which was amazing. The girls had a blast, and we will for sure be doing this every year.

It's in tooele and it started at 9a.m. so we had to leave pretty early, Dustin was so nice and drove us girls there then took bubba to lagoon and drove all the way back up to get us by 4p.m. It's held at Camp Wapiti the family who owns it lets them use it for free.

They started off by letting the girls make there own name badges. And put us in our group we were the "Crazy Daisies".
Then they sent us to the playground until registration was done at ten.

If you know my girls you know they can make a friend anywhere, and very fast. They had made friends with all the girls in our group before we got started.

This was our group of girls with their 2 leaders, Tricia & Meig, they were so awesome.

They rotated us to different activities every hour, the first was a super fun game called park ranger. A few people stand in the middle and they are the park rangers then the people on both sides run and try not to get tagged by the park rangers(who have to stand still but can reach out their arms) then the last person touched wins.

Then they Tye dyed shirts, which the girls absolutely loved. the shirts turned out super cute & i haven't taken a finished product picture yet. OOOPS!

Then it was lunch time. Mac & cheese, hot dogs & watermelon.Then it was the girls favorite hour of all, swimming.

All the girls had a blast playing with everyone.

Then it was more games. Another fun game ill have to remember to play next time with a big group.

The girls thought it was neat they had treats and drinks with there names on them.

Our last rotation they made their own trail mix.

They gave the girls a bag when they left, it had a t shirt, cookies, crackers, treats & drinks. They got spoiled, treated like princesses.

They have a heart camp for families in August which we hope to be attending.

Book Club

This summer one of my friends started a kids book club. I thought it would be such a great idea to keep the girls reading this summer.

They have two weeks to read the book we choose, and then the kids meet at one of the kids house's, talk about the book and either make a craft or treat that has to do with the book.

The first book was :Diary of a wimpy kid #1

we didn't do so good with finishing the first book, but hopefully we can get this next one done:)

It's off

Well last Friday Tayler had a dr's apt. to see if she would be getting her cast off. Well after they cut the cast off and an xray they decided she didn't need to get another cast on. Personally i was a little nervous cause it has only been 3 weeks, and for it being such a bad break that they thought that she might need surgery i thought it was soon to be getting it off for good.

When she broke her other arm same bone last time she had it casted for 6 weeks.

But i know I'm no Dr. and that hopefully he knew best.

She told me the morning of that she was so nervous, i said don't be nervous it won't hurt, She said I'm nervous it will stink mom lol.

Jace thought it was cool to sit up close and be in on the action.

Well tayler had her cast off for 4 days and i was getting a little worried because her arm is really cricked, when she tries to straighten it, it won't all the way. So i called and made an apt. for the next day, we went in and paid a dumb copay for him to seriously look at it for 20 seconds. He said come back next week and if it looks the same we will schedule physical therapy. I was not really happy when i left there, i just hope it's okay and they don't end up having to do anything.

The birds grew up so fast. They are all gone now, they got a little to big for their nest and off they went. It's crazy cause you can actually see their feathers growing in.
Not even joking a few days later they looked like this.

One by one they would brave leaving the nest and try to fly away, they did not succeed the first time sadly, they just sorta dropped to the porch then run down the stairs and continue to run away.

This was the first one running away, i hope it made it somewhere safe. Hopefully the neighborhood cats didn't find them before they learned to fly.

It was fun watching the birds hatch and become cute little birdies, but honestly i was sick of squirting bird poop off my porch, cars, driveway like twice a day.

This year Dustin surprised me and the kids with season lagoon passes. We got them 2 years ago and have not been back since, so the girls were super excited. We have been going on Saturdays or later at night, i haven't dared brave it with just me and the kids yet lol.

Their eyes have not opened yet. Mommy bird finds worms in the grass chews it up and feeds them. Really neat to watch. Darn neighbors cat keeps trying to get them, we have to keep scaring the cat away.

Last Wednesday before t-ball practice started the girls were playing at the park and tayler fell off the playground, she came running to me crying holding her arm. Some lady said i heard a snap from here, so we left Megan at practice with a neighbor took jace to aunt Kari's and off we went to the Doctor. Well we got there and they did an xray and said yep it's broke. They said we think you need to see a pediatric surgeon because it's a pretty bad break close to her joint, well they pulled her xray from 2 years ago from her other hand and it was the exact same break. Well the Dr, said come back Monday (5 days later) and we will xray it again and go from there.

Well we went back today, they had her hot pink & black cast ready to wrap on her and took her for a quick xray. Well the xray tec. had me sign some paper releasing the xrays to me to take to the pediatric surgeon. They said the bone has shifted a bit, i couldn't even see the break in the first xray and today i could see it really good. So after a few tears from tayler, sad about not getting her cast on and knowing she has to go to another Dr. we headed to get bubba from my friends house and headed up to Mckay Dee to see the pediatric surgeon.

After he looked at the xrays & her arm for a few minutes he said he was just going to cast it, NO SURGERY!!! yeah:) So she got her PiNk & BlAcK cast on after all.

Memorial Day 2011

Every memorial day we go visit our loved ones who have passed. I have been very blessed and only lost great grandparents and my sweet step grandpa. My kids love visiting their graves we have done it since the kids were little and i hope they keep it up as they get older. We visited Grandpa Thompson's grave.

But this year their happened to be two new graves next to the ones we were visiting, that were not there last year. It hit a little too close to home because both of them were my kids ages. They were both the cutest grave stones i had ever seen.

I feel SUPER blessed to have all my children, siblings, parents and most of my grandparents all still alive. Today at church i found out that a family that i really look up to has just found out that their 3 year old grandson has just been diagnosed with stage 4 cancer . I wish the best to this sweet family. I love my family so very much, and i am so grateful for Eternal Families.

She's back

About this time of year for the last 3 years a little mama bird builds a nest above our front door, she builds it in my garland that goes around the door. It might have something to do with the lights that are in the garland, maybe it helps keep the baby eggs warm:)

I think it's amazing how the mama bird builds the nest with her little beak, i actually saw her build it this year. She would leave for awhile then come back with a mouth full of stuff and build away.

If you come to my house look out because she almost takes my head off as she flies away every time i walk up to the door.

Just another day in paradise

Well last Sunday after church we headed up to paradise, logan to visit dustin's mom. She had to have back surgery may 8, again after just having it done weeks prior due to some problems. She is such a strong women and i totally look up to her, she wanted to get up and pick up her grand kids and hug them and kiss them. She did sneak in a couple hugs but for the most part we tried to make her stay in bed. The kids love it up at grandmas house, they love the horses in the back. So that is where the kids spent most of the time. They also love grandmas porch swing

The kids got the biggest kick out of the mirror on grandmas bed, i caught them making face's.

We love going up to visit grandma, we hate that it's not that often but it can be hard to find time when dustin is home so that we can go as a family. We love you grandma Fran!!

Party Party Party!!!!

The girls chose to have a Black & Pink Zebra party this year.

They had a friend party on Friday after school and our family came over for a BBQ on Saturday night.

They wanted Just Dance 2 and Just Dance for kids

I needed a zebra for our pin the tail on the Zebra game, and check out this cute zebra my husband drew for me. I never knew i was married to an artist:)

Me and jace decorated the sidewalk with sidewalk chalk for the girls. When they got off the bus and saw it they were so excited.

Later that night i had to run to the store and when i got home i saw this, all their gifts lined up on the floor and they were sound asleep. Two happy girls!!

Dustin took jace to our ward Father & sons this weekend.

Jace was so very excited, it couldn't have came at a better time because jace has been going through daddy with drawls. He cries for him while he is at work EVERYDAY!!!

This morning i was talking with the second counselor in our bishopric and he said it was so fun hanging out with your husband and son this weekend. He said jace is a funny little kid, he also said he got a kick out of my son only responding to bubba and not Jace. He said the boys kept saying jace and he wouldn't answer but the second they would say bubba he would respond.

Jace wakes up a lot in the night and walks into our room, dustin said that in the middle of the night jace stood up and walked right into the wall of the tent thinking he was home.

I am so glad they got the time to hang out together this weekend as father & son and to get to know our new ward better.

So i had to write this down before i forget. The other night as we were sitting down for dinner jace said he wanted to say the prayer. His prayer was short & sweet "Dear heavenly father please bless daddy at work & mommy at walmart, thank you." This kid cracks me up daily when he's not being a crazy boy.

Dustin took him to our ward Father & Sons tonight and while part of me was so excited for them to have time together part of me was a little nervous. Jace was so excited and was so cute with his bag all packed and ready to go have fun with dad. I can't wait to see him tomorrow and see how it went. He left with just finding out he had an ear infection so i hope he sleeps good. I sure love my boys and miss them when this house is this quiet.

I can't believe my girls are 7, where have the last 7 years gone.

I remeber all too clear the day 7 years ago that my sweet baby girls were born.

Going to the hospital not knowing i would be having my babies, i kept thinking im not having these babies today i am only 7 months pregnant. Well a a few hours after getting to the hospital they were born, and a few weeks later they were able to go home.

We could not have been happier they were home with us.

My sweet sister in law took these great pictures which i love. She is AWESOME!!!

I was a lucky girl and got invited by my sister and her friends to go spend the weekend in Bear Lake awhile back. This house we stayed at was RIDICULOUS!!!

I have to start off by saying this trip almost didn't happen because it was in the middle of a snow storm and it was the scariest drive i have EVER driven. Me and kari both have suv's but we drove her honda accord since it was just the two of us, bad idea we had to stop in Logan and get new windshield wipers cause the ones on kari's car were not working and it was snowing and getting worse through the canyon.

We got stuck halfway up and had to get pushed out by some guy driving a snow plow, we were driving like 10-15 mph. the entire way up and going down the hills were terrifying to say the least. Our trail behind us looked like one of those signs on the side of the road that mean windy road ahead, lucky for us there was nobody on the road but us most of the way up or we may have been in trouble. But after about 2 hours just in the canyon we made it and were two happy chicks:)

When we got there kari took me on a tour because she had been there before.

There was a rock wall that went up to a little play area, and slides to every level in the house.

There were 9 bedrooms & 7 bathrooms

I chose the princess room, there were so many full beds but i chose this room. There were 2 sets of bunk beds and princess decorations.

We played wii, guitar hero, some read books, played games and ate our share of junk food!!

It snowed from the time we got there on Thursday until we left Saturday.

This toilet was hilarious. My kids would have loved it, it was just across from the normal one.

The theater room was awesome it had cute little sports seats for kiddos then two rows of comfy leather couches.

This picture was taken the night before we had to leave and it was still snowing, we had to be to our grandmas surprise party the next morning in Layton and we really thought we would be snowed in... what better place could we have been stuck hehehe!

Me and Kari went to leave and about died when we saw all the snow, there was no way her car was getting out. So luckily they had 6 shovels cause it took all of us to get out.

On our way home there were deer all over the place, i honestly have never seen more deer probably in my hole life than we saw on our way out.

I didn't dare drive very fast because the roads were so slushy, it just kept pulling the car every which way & i didn't want to hit a deer.

Okay with all the deer all over me and Kari were watching them just running everywhere. Well this group of deer caught our eyes as they were standing on the side of a fence at the top of this hill, well one by one they start jumping the fence then as we drive by we see this leg stuck in the fence. Well Kari says"stop we gotta help it". So we pull over ( there's no pull over spot so we are basically in the road) Kari gets out and climbs the mountain up to this deer to save it, and as she gets up there she realizes it's dead and that it must have happened the day before cause it had snow on it. But it was not too long ago cause it didn't look that gross:(

So that was Kari doing a good deed trying to save the deer, i don't know what the heck she would have done if it were still alive and tried to fight.

What a memorable trip. We had a blast!!

Spring Break 2011

This last week was spring break for the girls, do to the snow almost every single day it kept us inside most days.

This picture is from the week before but didn't have a chance to post it. Dustin took tayler to the jazz game. He took Megan last year and it was taylers turn and she was so excited. The kids love being with daddy, Dustin took jace to the BYU practice game in the snow on Saturday. Kari & curt were also at the game and found Dustin and tayler. We had yummy breakfast a few days, this reminds me of Christmas growing up my mom made it every Christmas morning. And i have never made it before the kids loved it!!

They were so pooped that they took a 3 and a half hour nap:)

I saw these cute peep bird nests and thought they would be fun for the kids to make.

All you need is: Butter, Peeps, Marshmallows, chow mien noodles, and candy eggs

Mix the noodles and marshmallows and butter just as you would rice crispy treats, then form into a nest and let set up on parchment paper then decorate.

Friday was a very snowy day, in fact i swear it didn't stop snowing for 24 hours but it didn't really stick much. The snowflakes were huge and beautiful. The grand kids went with grandpa gregg to see the new movie "HOP" and loved it.

Spring Break was fun but the kids are excited to get back to school and frankly i am a little tired of the fighting lol.

Jace's birthday weekend

Last year Jace's birthday fell over Easter weekend and this weekend over conference weekend.

So we were able to watch conference and fit in some fun activities.

Saturday morning we watched the morning session of conference then headed to Texas Road House for lunch.

The girls told them it was jace's birthday the next day so they brought out the saddle and ice cream and sang happy birthday to him. As you can tell by the picture he was not happy at first he wasn't sure about all those people he didn't know singing to him lol.

But once all the girls took a turn then he didn't want to get off.

Jace's friends brought him a little gift, which he loved.

Later that night the girls wanted to give jace his present from them, they had each earned allowance and went and bought him a pillow pet.

He was so excited!!!

Sunday morning came a little to early for us (4a.m.) do to some inconsiderate neighbors

But as i was awake with jace that early i was thinking how weird that 3 years ago i was at the hospital at that exact time with pains (kidney stones) knowing that in a few hours i would be having my precious baby boy. Jace was born at 8a.m. that morning.

And his favorite gift a vacuum that i found a t the d.i. for 8 bucks. Yes it's real and works, it even has the bag less removable front. My grandma could not believe i bought him that she said that child labor lol. If she only saw my son take my huge vacuum out almost daily and want to vacuum then she would understand why this was the perfect gift for him.

Jace wanted a toy story birthday party and we did. I forgot to take a picture of the set up, it was so cute we had out his potato heads and toy story things all over. This was my attempt at a toy story cake.

I can't believe he is already 3, time really does go by way to fast.

I didn't get a picture of the finished package but we made fortune cookies dipped in white chocolate, rolled in sprinkles, put them in a Chinese box and topped it with a tag.
Megan was not feeling her happy self in the morning so we sent tayler off to school by herself.
But i was asked to help out in the girls class with the Valentines party,, luckily by the afternoon meg was feeling good enough to go with me.

I was in charge of a game so me and the girls picked Pin The Lips On Ms. Valentine..

With meg not feeling well we didn't have much time to make her but she turned out fine..

The kids loved the game one girl asked if she could take Ms. Valentine home and all the kids wanted to keep their lips with their names on them..

I thought it was a cute movie and the kids loved it.

Maui Hawaii 2011

Wow i can't believe it has already been a month since we went to Hawaii,

and that it has taken me this long to post about it.

We had to leave our house by 3:30 a.m. and we were up til 1 with a sick kid. Megan had a fever of 102 and it had me nervous because i always think it has to do with her heart when she gets sick. I felt guilty leaving but knew they were in good hands, then tayler got it so i figured it was a bug which it was and a bad one.

Well we made it to the airport and were on our way to Hawaii. This was our first picture of hawaii upon arrival

We felt like celebrities we had a gift bag filled with American express gift cards, snacks, etc. left on our bed.

These were some chairs they had in the front lobby, we wanted to bring them home they were so comfy.

The first night they had a Welcome Reception (Pacific Lawn) for everyone to mingle and eat.

The food was YUMMO.. especially all the fresh fruit, i couldn't eat enough.

The bugs were out on the first night, this little guy was in the same spot every night.

This little creature was in our hotel entrance, these little guys were actually cute compared to the last guy.

Day 3 we had a free day all day so we decided to go hang out with some friends that we happened to run into at the airport Garet went to school with us we used to hang out just the 3 of us and he actually is a pilot for Sky west.

We were so excited to go hang out with Garet & Jamie because they have been here before and knew all the good spots to go see. So dustin & i rented a car and drove down to their place they were staying and picked them up for the day.

We headed to a surf beach to see some surfers, it was awesome.

Then we headed up to "Twin Falls" it's a rain forest we hiked up to the top and it was raining, but it's hot out so its so awesome. Then when you get to the top there is a waterfall and it was beautiful.

These leaves were huge and looked awesome with the raindrops on them.

Dustin & Garet went cliff jumping with this guy who was a tour guide he was giving a tour and it was a bunch of old people so he was excited when he saw two young dudes. He also gave us the yummiest thing i have ever tasted in my life an apple -banana mmmm......

It's what they used to make their banana bread, which is also the best i have ever had.

After we left twin falls we headed to find lunch and came across this DELICIOUS pizza place.

Later that night we headed across town to Lahaina for a little shopping and souviners.

In the park there is this tree, this picture is very dark but you can kinda get the idea. It was planted in 1982 the branches and stem cover the entire park, it goes in the ground and comes back out somewhere else, it covers the entire park.

Day 4: We had a free day until about 4:00 when we headed to the Grand Wailea for our Luau (which by the way is where the new movie "Just go with it" with Jennifer Aniston & Adam Sandler was filmed) Gorgeous Hotel.

So we did it again.

This little bird landed on a plate near by and tried flying away with a roll.

On our last day we had pretty much the entire day to do whatever we wanted, we had to be checked out of our rooms by noon and our flight didn't leave until almost midnight. It was super bowl sunday and the hotel had a suite for us all to watch the super bowl. But a couple of us decided to go on a whale watching tour.

Our tour was awesome their were whales EVERYWHERE, we went on a whale watching tour when we went to mexico and we saw a couple but this time they were everywhere.

Besides a couple of our friends getting sick and having to throw up over the boat it was a fun tour.

After our whale watching tour and finishing up watching the Super Bowl dustin and some friends went out venturing while i went shopping for some more souviners.

These were the shirts that they gave to all guys who earned the trip. I loved the saying.

Oh how i wish i was here right now watching another sunset.

And there's the snow, we are home.

We had so much fun in Maui, it is truely a trip i will never forget. I am so proud of dustin for working so hard and doing what he does everyday, he won this trip for being such a great associate and all the guys that earned it deserved it.

Big Boy

So we are officially diaper free at our house yeah!!!!

Jace is such a big boy he tells me mom i have to go potty okay:)

He has gone to bed in his underwear and woke up dry every morning this week, so proud of this little man. Our biggest problem with this time around potty training is calling them underwear not PANTIES lol. after two girls that's what we have called them around here.

This is his reward i let him pick a few different things( Krabby Patties, Tootsie Rolls. Twizzler twists & Dum Dums) then we mixed them up into baggies, i put one in my purse and kept one on the fridge. I was tyring to figure out when i should stop rewarding him with treats so i decided when the two baggies are gone then that's the end of the rewards. Half the time he forgets anyways, so until the next baby we are diaper free around this house.

Journaling: Heart issues & Potty training

So i have no pictures to go with this post but needed to write these things down.

Yesterday was a crazy day, i started to potty train jace he woke up and wanted to go poop in the potty so i figured why not. I was going to wait until we got home from our trip so i didn't have to leave him with everyone just beginning the process.

Well he was doing so good then i get a phone call from the school nurse asking me to come to the school because megan was in the nurse's room she said megan's heart was beating really fast too fast so i threw on jace's pants leaving him in his underwear.. brave i know right.

We get to the school and the nurse calls me into her office where megan is laying down she said can i talk to you for a minute, so we talked for a bit she said Megan's heart rate is supposed to be about 110 and it was in the 140's and that she looked really white.

Well she came home early to rest i don't know what I'm going to do with this girl i can't follow her around at school and make sure she won't run around at recess or get to excited.

I feel so bad for her she just want's to play with all the other kids there has got to be something they can have her do during recess, i try to tell her to take it easy but that's not easy for a 6 yr old. She has an apt. next month with her heart Dr. so we will see what she says, her Dr. said there is medication she can get on but we will see.

On a different note Jace is doing okay with the potty training he will go # 2 in the potty but # 1 not so much he will just stand there in his underwear and pee then look at me like oops!!!

Usually it's the other way around at least for my girls they would pee in the potty but had a hard time with going poo in the potty for awhile, i stayed home all day today so he could just chill in his undies and even the nude lol. we had a lot of accidents but no # 2 accidents.

I did however get a ton of deep cleaning done while jace sat on his potty watching cartoons, he just brought the toilet to the family room and sat on it.

Family getaway

We took advantage of the long weekend and headed to a hotel for a fun family getaway.

The kids were being silly playing on the bed the bed which they kicked me and dustin out of, the 3 kids slept on the huge bed and me and dustin slept on the pull out couch.

We did a little swimming

Jace is going to be so fun this summer he had a blast swimming and didn't want to get out

We came back from swimming and cooked dinner and watched a movie.

On monday we headed over to the children's museum @ the gateway but it was insanely busy with it being a holiday, so we left and were going to go to Pirate Island in orem but we called just to make sure they were open and they didn't open until later that day. We then decided to go to lunch at one of our favorite places Chuck e mama ( that's what my kids call it) then we went to Boondocks. We had such a fun weekend i love experiencing new things with my kids, i wish they could come with me and dustin on our trip next week i sure miss my kids when i have to leave them.

The girls were still out of school for one more day so i decided to surprise the kids and take them out, we started by eating dinner at the Pizza Factory then headed to a movie. The YUMMIEST bread sticks ever!!!

Well what do you know they had a life size cut out of Justin Beiber, all the kids had to pose by him.

There was only 8 people in the entire theater 4 of them being us

I was so surprised jace kept his glasses on on the entire movie

We saw Yogi bear which i had heard was dumb, but we all really liked it.

I sure love my kiddos, i was really not looking forward to my kids being out of school for two weeks just because they fight all the time but we had a great couple of weeks doing fun stuff with each other, even Dustin had off almost 3 weeks.

School Night @ Classic Skating

The girls school rented out classic skating again, the kids love to go and hang out with their friends.

This time Jace even got to ride around and had a blast.
The d.j. played this game where the kids would skate around to music and when he turned off the music they had to hurry and fall down and if the last person to fall was a boy then the girls got a point and if the last person to fall was a girl then the boys got a point, the girls ended up winning. The kids thought it was such a fun game.

Okay so we were getting ready to leave and the d.j. guy says okay we have a special guest coming in 30 minutes well my girls were convinced it was Justin beiber i said girls it's not Justin beiber but we can stay and see who it is, well the d.j. kept talking it up making it sound like it was going to be someone famous.

Well a half hour later he announces that the special guest was here to do the hokey poky with us so everyone gets all excited and in walks the Icee mascot, yeah lets just saw it was quiet nobody cheered then the d.j. says come on show him some love and then everyone cheered. By the time the Icee Mascot left all the kids were not wanting him to leave.

We got together for my dads birthday last week, we had banana splits and my dads favorite German chocolate cake.

My dad used to be a manager of a restaurant called "Hardees" and he would bring home boxes of the toys does anyone remember the raisin guys, well i went to a thrift shop awhile back and found a bag of them so we put them on my dads cake. He loved it!! We played just dance again & shalise did awesome she is a dance teacher and is great at it.

Dustin & i went to the jazz game while he was still off work for Christmas break, my sister & her hubby had tickets so we all drove down together.

Dustin's team at work has season tickets so he goes a lot but I'm always excited when i get to go with him. I love the energy you can feel when they turn out the lights and announce the names of the players who will be starting.

During Christmas break we did so many fun things, we went to chili's for lunch to use our gift card from Gregg. We love this place!! Megan was being silly and wouldn't let me take a picture so daddy was trying to help me out.

Christmas morning was really fun this year my kids are at the funnest age, I'm sure i think this every year but they were so excited.

Jace's favorite gift was his bike & his woody.

Megan's favorite gift this year was her leapster 2, Rapunzel doll & her bumble bee pillow pet.

Tayler's favorite gift this year was also her leapster 2 & her lady bug pillow pet.

My kids loved their pillow pets and made me take pictures of them riding them and pretending to be asleep.

We had a great Christmas this year, we love being with our family and visiting with family we don't see as often as we would like.

Every year we go to temple square and this year was extra fun, the kids loved checking out everything. We went into every building that was open i don't remember all the buildings being open.

When i was little i always loved walking up the ramp to see the Christ statue, i want my kids to love going and seeing the same things i did at their age.

I love this picture, as we were leaving this building the girls saw this picture and said "mom we want a picture with the prophet" Who wouldn't right.

Day 12

On the 12Th day of Christmas little elves brought to the kids pajamas, the book "twas the night before Christmas" and a key to leave on the door for Santa to get in the house.

Me and Dustin told the girls it was us that has been doing the 12 days to them they thought it was so fun.

It was so much fun doing the 12 days of Christmas to the kids, they loved putting out the basket on the porch everyday and then to see them get so excited when they saw the basket was full. I think this will become a family tradition at our house.

I'm re posting this picture form my last years post.

Last new years eve we went to my sisters house and hung out and played games, so i did something fun for the kids.

I bought brown lunch sacks cut out circles and drew clocks on them all different times, starting at what ever hour you want i started at 8pm, then each hour the kids got to open a sack and play with whatever was in the sack and it usually kept them busy until the next hour.

I got all my stuff at the dollar store and most things came in packs of four.

Somethings i used where play dough, glow sticks, coloring books & crayons etc. but the last thing being noise makers.

Have a fun & safe new years eve.

If anyone has ideas or traditions of things they do i would love to hear.

Tayler asked if she could pretend to be singing while i took the picture lol.

We also took the kids to see Tangled for the 2ND time for us girls, Dustin & jace's first.

I am doing the 12 days of Christmas to my kids and they are loving it, i started on Monday night and they received a basket with a note telling them to leave out there basket every night to receive the next item.

Well i got so behind on blogging that i just started posting the most recent stuff and didn't post some of our Halloween fun activities.

We went to my sisters Halloween party this year again. We always have fun, her ward is so sweet and always makes us feel Right at home. The kids had fun playing games

Dustin's work has a fun Halloween party every year out at the Davis county fair grounds, it is always fun they have dinner, games, prizes etc.

Childrens Museum Field trip

On Tuesday Tayler & Megan had their first field trip for the year. I was lucky and got to go with and be a parent helper, i was in charge of 6 kids Reese, Megan, Tayler, Tora, Kayla & Brigham. Poor Brigham he was the only boy, but i couldn't have picked one better boy to have had in my group he is a cute kid from our neighborhood.

Dustin was in Vegas for work for a few days so i let the girls have a movie & pizza party with some friends from school & the neighborhood. We all wore our pajamas ordered pizza and watched "polar express" and all the girls brought their favorite treat to share. The girls said O'klyn won for the best p.j.'s

These girls were so silly, we had a blast it was so fun hanging out with them. They were all fighting over who got to sit by me or on my lap during the movie:) We played games and danced after the movie was over, I'm so glad my girls have such good friends & are such great examples to my girls. And Jace also had a blast too, one of the girls that came has an awesome dad who took jace to Mcdonalds to play and back to hang out at their house while us girls played.

O'klyn had a birthday awhile ago and i guess she got this fun makeup kit so after school one day the girls all came over and gave each other makeovers.

I got to spend a weekend with my sister scrap booking, watching movies, hot tubing & eating junk food. It was a blast and it was much needed, love you sis.
